October 2nd -
Friends Monthly Craft Days – Don’t forget our 1st Sunday of the
Month Craft Days sponsored by our newly formed Friends of the Library Group,
led by Katie Stetson and Rebecca Hubbard
Crafts are easy enough for a toddler to make with the help of a
parent, but even adults love the crafts that Katie and Becky create. There is
no age limit, and if you see craft materials on our craft table after the first
Sunday, feel free to pick up the directions and leave the library with your own
creation. Creativity doesn’t stop after childhood. Enjoy!
October 13th –
Thursday 6:30- Jr. Book Club
Jr. Book Club – What it’s all about?
It’s about reading just for the fun of it. It’s about discussing
books you like to read. It’s about enjoying the library with friends. It’s
about sharing ideas and a snack with kids that like sharing ideas. It’s about
entering contests about literature. It’s a monthly get-together for children in
grades 3 through 6. Join us!
EVERGREEN SOFTWARE DELAYED
In the September issue of Around Town, we told you that our
library software that connects our library to hundreds of other libraries in
Central and Western Massachusetts (C/W MARS), was going to change in October.
This transition has been delayed until early winter. Please talk to the Library
Director if you have concerns about downloading your library history.
Programming Preview
The Erving Library staff and the Friends of the Library put a lot of planning and effort into the summer programs, and we are already planning some exciting events for Summer 2012.
Here are just some of the ideas that are being considered:
Yes, ‘shiver me timbers’ we are planning a pirate party for summer of 2012, along with a drumming programming for teens and adults, and an animal program for children of all
ages. We will let you know our final plans and dates in the May issue of Around
Town. If you have a talent that you would like to share with Erving residents,
please let us know, or if you would like to help with setting up for programs,
publicity, or providing refreshments, we would love to hear from you.
Before we get to summer, we are working on the following fall and winter programs:
For children:
- Erving Library will be hosting programs sponsored by the
Children’s Network, a series of Sunday programs in November and a pajama
time featuring snow stories December 15th - Jr. Book Club continues
